Decorative Gilt and Slate Candelabra Napoleon III

This unusual candelabra is emblematic of hunting with its display of animal heads on the base and birds and hare on the central stem. These are all in gilt metal.

Four finely cast arms with floral decoration and bobesh drip pans for the candles are mounted on the top.

The central body is decorated with gadrooned lines and swirling patterns from the top to the base. This sits on a turned central section with further floral decoration.

The main body is in highly polished slate with inlaid marble. The top turned section is in gilt pewter and the base section features pretty gilt feet.

Overall a very impressive and rare decorative piece.
