French Giltwood Mirror Napoleon III Second Empire
An attractive giltwood mirror from South West France - the design and shape are typical of the region.
The mirror has beautiful decoration with swirling acanthus leaves and flowers and it features a well-aged patina.
It retains its original back boards and hanging wire.
The frame and back boards are in pine and have been treated as a precaution against worm that is long since gone.
The mirror plate is of a later date.
